Live working hours and fatigue calculator

We introduced a project planning tool which records who is working at which site/job back in 2016 with our v6 updates. And now we’ve added even more.

We had requests from users who needed a solution to start recording working hours across the whole team, improve the interface between project managers and HR to ensure all workers are paid accurately and reduce the costly management time of filling in spreadsheets every month.

So now you can record workers and project hours, AND compile all workers and contractors actual hours into an instant export file for HR and Payroll.

And we didn’t stop there – using this live data we designed and built a live ‘Fatigue Calculator’ so you can avoid tired or overworked employees making mistakes, and meet your legal requirement to control and reduce worker fatigue related risks.

These unique tools help your business streamline your administration; but more importantly, achieve compliance with Health and Safety Law.

Advanced Search

The locating of company information on workers, contractors, certification, site details, drawings, plans, policies, photos, business accreditations or insurance certificates is always time-consuming – and in some situations inaccessible (files not on your site or server or when H&S / Project Managers are away).

This is a common problem companies spend too much valuable time on.

So we’ve developed our Advanced Search facility. A tool, which pulls together all your documentation into one single report page.

Media and Video Platform Improvements

Delivering frontline health and safety training and refresher training and has always been time-consuming, costly and hard to administer directly to every member of the workforce.

Our Video and Media sharing tool answers this problem, and has been a core part of Safety PAL since launch. But we’ve just made it quicker an easier to share videos than ever – from a simple dropdown, you can choose to share your media with everyone in your organisation, specific departments, individuals, or by email.

We’ve also made improvements to the Video and Media reports – something many clients have been asking for. With our new one-click media management report, you can see who’s been invited to view a video, who’s watched it, and just as important – who hasn’t.

With this improved inviting/sharing tool and the management reporting – gaps in your workforce knowledge will be a thing of the past.

Instant near miss and positive intervention tool

Our old instant, on-site, simplified spot checks have always been popular with health and safety managers. It recorded simple near misses, positive interventions, good working practices, and in some industries it’s been very useful for workers self-reporting.

With this tool, we saw the potential to help businesses prove they had completed a spot check, audit, or general site inspection, and record how any issue was closed-out and what further actions would be taken.

The updated Near Miss / Positive Intervention tool shows any incidents that need to be investigated or closed out on the Manager’s dashboard.

This makes it easier to keep track of what actions need attention, and you can record what corrective measures have been taken (e.g. further training, better equipment, change of policy, etc) – so you can easily prove beyond a reasonable doubt you are doing everything possible to prevent harm.

Workers Health Assessments

Every employer is responsible for monitoring the general health of their workers – Regulation 6 of The Management Of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

To help you meet this requirement, we introduced the new ‘Workers Health Assessment’ tool, based on NHS recommended questions. This assessment does not sit alone in a separate folder or module; all completed assessments are automatically added to the workers CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Portal, accessible to both management and employee.

You’ll also be given automatic reminders to ensure your business is always complying with the law.
